Biographical Information[edit]

Blake Eager reached AA as a pitcher then went into coaching.

Eager was taken by the New York Mets in the 30th round of the 2004 amateur draft. He split 2004 between the GCL Mets (4-3, 3.93) and the Brooklyn Cyclones (0 R in 3 1/3 IP). In '05, he was with the GCL Mets (3 R in 4 2/3 IP) and Hagerstown Suns (6-3, 3.76, only 16 BB in 105 1/3 IP). He had no wild pitches in 110 innings. In 2006, the righty was with the GCL Mets (1-1, 4.00), St. Lucie Mets (5-3, 3.78) and Binghamton Mets (2 R in 6 2/3 IP). He walked only 21 in 101 1/3 innings. He went 0-1 with a 3.47 ERA for the North Shore Honu in Hawaii Winter Baseball. The next year, he ended his Mets run with the GCL Mets (0 R in 1 IP) and St. Lucie (0-3, 6.34).

Eager went to Sweden in 2008 and went 0 for 2 for the Leksand Lumberjacks. In '09, he was back in the US, going 0-1 with 5 runs in 3 innings for the Tucson Toros. Overall, he had gone 16-14 with a 4.19 ERA in 74 minor league games. During 2010, he was player-manager for Leksand, going 0-1 with a 3.00 ERA in his limited time on the hill. The Lumberjacks were 10-14. In 2011, he was 1-0 with a 4.59 ERA and Leksand finished 15-9. He coached for the Swedish national team in the 2012 European Championship.
