Biographical Information[edit]

Beom-su Kim once led the KBO in appearances. His brother Yun-su Kim also played in the KBO.

Kim was drafted by the Hanwha Eagles in the first round of the 2015 KBO draft, and his ERA was 7.36 in 15 games in his first season. He only pitched 3 games with the big club in 2016, then he pitched 15 games with a 8.71 ERA in 2017. Kim then recorded a 5.77 ERA in 55 games in 2018, and he was 5-9 with a 5.68 ERA in 2019. He then went 3-6 with a 5.24 ERA in 2020, and he had a 4-9 record with a 5.22 ERA in 2021. The Eagles named Kim their setup man in 2022, and he notched 27 holds with a 4.36 ERA in 78 appearances. Kim broke the Eagles' team record for most holds in a season, and he was also the first Eagles pitcher to collect more than 20 holds in a season. He led the KBO in games pitched, and he was 3rd in holds (tied with Jae-woong Kim).

The Asan native pitched 76 games with a 4.19 ERA in 18 games in 2023, and he was 8th in holds (tied with Jae-woong Kim and Sang-soo Kim) and 2nd in appearances (tied with Kyung-eun Noh). However, he struggled in 2024, and his ERA rose to 5.29 in 39 relief outings.

Kim's repertoire included a fastball (peak 95.1 mph) and slider.
