Biographical Information[edit]

Beau Amaral is the son of Rich Amaral and brother of Danny Amaral.

Beau hit .446 with 39 runs in 31 games as a high school senior. The Arizona Diamondbacks took him in the 45th round of the 2009 amateur draft but he did not sign. Going on to UCLA, he teamed with several other sons of major leaguers - Dean Espy, Niko Gallego and Brandon Lodge (a stepson of Bobby Grich) - to go to the 2010 College World Series. Amaral had hit .369/.459/.476 through June 21, leading UCLA in average and OBP. He was later taken by the Cincinnati Reds in the seventh round of the 2012 amateur draft. He soon signed and made his pro debut with the Billings Mustangs on June 30th.
