BR Bullpen talk:Featured Article Candidates
Stade Olympique and Nagashima both have introductions now. Both would be good choices for the next article. I really liked Roger Moore's Caruthers bio - what do others think about it as #5 in the queue? I'm leaving it out of the What's New as there are other articles that aren't feature-worthy which I'll include there. - --Mischa 10:27, 23 July 2006 (EDT)
Other possibilities[edit]
Other future possibilities include:
- 1905 World Series
- 1911 World Series
- 1912 World Series
- 1915 World Series
- 1946 World Series
- 2003 World Series
- 2007 Caribbean Series
- Adrian Garrett
- Deadball Era
- Frank Thomas
- Hilton Smith
- Jim Lemon
- Juan Gonzalez
- Kazuhiro Kiyohara
- Kazuhiro Sasaki
- Larry Jansen
- Luis Polonia
- Masanori Murakami
- Masumi Kuwata
- Reserve clause
- Scott Sanderson
- Tom Paciorek
- Tuffy Rhodes
However, I did not want to nominate them since I would not be the one that would work on them. --MichaelEng (talk) 15:31, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
I'm willing to work on some of these - Rhodes, Murakami, Kiyohara, Polonia, Jansen, Paciorek. - --Mischa 15:46, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
Can I mention 1981 NLCS as a possible candidate ? It's the best of the non-World Series post-season articles. The Derek Jeter article is also quite good among current player biographies. --Philippe 02:12, 27 October 2007 (EDT)
I would also advise against any of the WS articles where information was copied from wikipedia. Any of the ones done primarily by Philippe or one of the other good contributors here would be worth a look, IMO. I'm also willing to do whatever work needs to be done on the 2007 Caribbean Series - --Mischa 10:58, 28 October 2007 (EDT)
I'll try to start working on articles again as soon as all the seasonal pages have the navigation templates. Also, how do the 2007 MLB postseason pages look? Philippe has been a great writer of all the game summaries. SoxrockTalk/Edits 14:20, 28 October 2007 (EDT)
Isn't anyone else interested in voting on the proposed articles? We should start working on getting a new featured article up, which means we need to select one and fine-tune it. - --Mischa 19:38, 7 November 2007 (EST)
I'm definitely interested. I'll help out with whatever we pick. jj137 (Talk) 19:45, 7 November 2007 (EST)
I like the idea of using the reserve clause page, because a "rules" or "glossary" article would be a featured article we haven't had. I'm not sure how much would have to be added to it though. --Jeff 12:13, 8 November 2007 (EST)
Add it to the proposed list so people can comment. - --Mischa 12:15, 8 November 2007 (EST)
I've added my votes and comments to the proposed articles on the main article page, as requested. Why is Stade Olympique not there though ? Is there agreement it's next to be featured. If not, it should be put for discussion as it's been in the queue for some time. --Philippe 01:42, 9 November 2007 (EST)
If you start a BR Bullpen - Featured Candidate page for it, I'll put in my comments. - --Mischa 12:16, 9 November 2007 (EST)
Should we remove all the featured article candidates that have become featured articles (Dave Nilsson, etc) from this page? Alex 14:49, 5 December 2008 (EST)
Makes sense. - --Mischa 19:49, 6 December 2008 (EST)
Can we remove the Jim Lemon, 2001-2002 Cuban National League, Peanuts and Richard Nixon's All-Time All-Star Teams candidacies from this page since they haven't seen any action in 6-7 years? Alex (talk) 12:04, 4 August 2014 (EDT)
The 2003 Phillies article has gotten mixed reviews. Anybody have a suggestion on another team-based article? We've already done an Expos one and a Kinston Eagles one. I thought a team article would be nice as we've had a couple players in a row. - --Mischa (talk) 11:54, 5 February 2016 (EST)
