Biographical Information[edit]

Anukul Sudsawad played for the Thai national team when they won Silver in the 2005 Southeast Asian Games and was back with them for the 2006 Asian Games. In the 2007 Baseball World Cup, he was 4 for 21 (all singles, no walks) but stole four bases in four tries and had three of Thailand's seven runs. He scored once against Cuba and twice versus Venezuela as Thailand's leadoff man. He fielded .846 as Thailand's primary shortstop and also saw some action in the outfield. He led the first round of the tourney in swipes, but Australia's Trent Oeltjen (a future major leaguer) finished with more overall after Thailand was eliminated. Sudsawad was with Thailand for the 2007 Asian Championship, 2007 Southeast Asian Games (winning Gold) and 2010 Intercontinental Cup.
