Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Andy Fermín is the son of Felix Fermín and nephew of Carlos Fermín. The Toronto Blue Jays took him in the 32nd round of the 2010 amateur draft. He made his pro debut on June 21, 2010, for the GCL Blue Jays, going 0 for 3 with a walk.

Fermín became a coach with the New Hampshire Fisher Cats in 2017-2019. After the 2018 season he also coached the Surprise Saguaros in the Arizona Fall League. Fermín was slated to be the hitting coach for the Vancouver Canadians in 2020 before COVID-19 shut down the minor league season. He was the hitting coach for the DSL Blue Jays in 2021 before being promoted to manager of the team for the 2022-2023 seasons. He then came stateside as manager of the FCL Blue Jays in 2024.

Fermín also has coaching experience in the Dominican League with the Águilas Cibaeñas.
