Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Andrew McInvale was drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in the 37th round of the 2019 amateur draft from Liberty University, to which he had transferred after one year at Baylor University. He pitched for the GCL Blue Jays and Bluefield Blue Jays his first season, going 1-0, 6.35 in 7 games.

After sitting out the entire 2020 season because the minor leagues were shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he resumed his career in 2021 with the Vancouver Canadians in the High-A West, but after just 2 games was promoted all the way to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats of the Double-A Northeast. It was a big jump, but seemingly not to Andrew as in his first 13 games, he put up an ERA of 2.18 and struck out 28 opponents in 20 2/3 innings as a reliever. On June 29th, he was traded to the Miami Marlins along with veteran IF Joe Panik in return for two other veterans, P Adam Cimber and OF Corey Dickerson.
