Biographical Information[edit]
Andrés Kim has played for the Argentinian national team.
Kim was born in Argentina and moved to the US as a child. [1] He was team MVP as a high school senior. [2] He was 1 for 3 with a walk and a RBI as a freshman at UCSD then transferred to Pasadena City College and hit .335/.440/.458. [3]
Transferring again, he batted .265/.373/.290 as a junior at USC Upstate and .321/.404/.402 as a senior while playing primarily second base. He was one of two Argentinian-born, US-raised players on Argentina's squad for the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, alongside pitcher Eric Ma. [4] He started at third base, hitting 9th in the opener against Pakistan. He singled off Amir Asghar his first time up and hit .250/.357/.250 on the tourney with two runs in four games. Only Exequiel Talevi and Lucas Stalman scored more runs for Argentina. [5]
