Biographical Information[edit]

Agustín Tanco has pitched for the Argentinian national team. His brother Federico Tanco played in the minors and for Argentina.

Agustín was with Argentina for the 2015 South American Championship. He was 0-1 with a 4.63 ERA in the 2016 U-23 Baseball World Cup, taking the loss against Venezuela. In the 2018 South American Championship, he helped Argentina take Gold. In his lone outing, he worked two innings (1 BB, 3 K) of a combined no-hitter with Federico Schultze against Bolivia. Argentina won a spot in the 2019 Pan American Games.

He pitched one game in the 2019 Pan American Games, relieving Guido Monis with a 10-0 deficit against Cuba in the 7th. He allowed a hit to César Prieto but then got Yoelquis Guibert to hit into a force then retired Roel Santos and Yordan Manduley. The game ended after that inning due to the mercy rule; he was Argentina's only hurler to work a scoreless frame.
