Biographical Information

Aaron Peel twice hit .300 in the minors and peaked at AA.

Peel was taken by the Anaheim Angels in the 11th round of the 2002 amateur draft, one round after they selected Howie Kendrick. In his pro debut, he hit .252/.288/.333 for the AZL Angels. With the 2003 Provo Angels, he improved to .302/.364/.467. In a hitter's league, he did not make the top 10 in average. As a backup with the 2004 Cedar Rapids Kernels, he posted a batting line of .216/.289/.385. He rebounded and then some in 2005 with Cedar Rapids (.308/.407/.511 in 52 G) and the High Desert Mavericks (.311/.375/.550 in 51 G). He hit 19 home runs, scored 77 runs and was hit by pitch 20 times. Had he qualified, he would have been 6th in the Midwest League in average and just missing the top 10 in the California League.

In 2006, Aaron spent a full year with the Arkansas Travelers, hitting .285/.344/.473 with 37 doubles and 16 home runs. He was 7th in the Texas League in two-baggers, between Kevin Mahar and Brant Colamarino. He split 2007 between Arkansas (.255/.284/.400 in 83 G) and the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (.346/.387/.481 in 26 G). In '08, Peel played for the Travelers (5 for 18, HR, 6 BB) and AZL Angels (6 for 38, 2B, HR, 6 BB).

Overall, he hit .278/.340/.449 in 522 minor league games, with 122 doubles, 62 homers, 288 runs and 272 RBI. He only drew 130 walks.
