1985 World Junior Championship

The 1985 World Junior Championship was the fifth World Junior Championship. Held in Albany, NY in early August, it featured the first repeat winner in the event's history.
Cuba took its second Gold Medal, having won also in 1984, beating the USA 4-1 in the finale. The team included Pablo Abreu and Eddy Rojas.
The USA won its fourth Silver Medal, having gone 7-0 in the preliminary round before their loss in the final.
Taiwan, including Cheng-Hsien Chang, Cheng-Hsien Chen, Kuo-Chian Ku, Kun-Han Lin, Chin-Shn Liu, Kuei-Chang Tseng, Kuang-Shih Wang and Wen-Yu Wu, won its second straight Bronze.
