The 1953 St. Louis Browns were the last edition of the team to play in St. Louis. They were last in the American League in attendance. After the season they relocated to Baltimore, MD and played the 1954 season there as the Baltimore Orioles.
The Browns played slightly below-average baseball throughout April and May, but a fourteen-game losing streak in June cemented their second-division status.
Don Larsen and Bob Turley were rookies in 1953. They would both go on to fame and fortune as members of the New York Yankees.
