1930 International League season
(Redirected from 1930 IL)
The 1930 International League season marked the third of four straight titles for the Rochester Red Wings. Rochester's Ripper Collins won his second consecutive RBI title, setting a new IL record in the process (180) while Baltimore's Joe Hauser cracked 63 home runs, also an IL record that has never been broken. Hauser shattered Bill Kelly's record of 44. The records were appropriate in that 1930 could be considered the peak of the live ball era with Bill Terry getting a record 254 hits and Hack Wilson a NL-record 56 home runs, both of which stood for decades.
