Biographical Information[edit]

Zane Hendrickx has pitched for the Belgian national team. His father Sven Hendrickx played and managed the Belgian team. [1]

Zane debuted in 2019 with the Hoboken Pioneers, going 0 for 3 with two walks. [2] He was 0 for 3 the next year. [3] In '21, he was 1 for 3. [4] In the 2021 U23 European Championship, he allowed three runs (two earned) in three innings. [5]

He then pitched for Belgium in the 2021 European Championship. The teenager made two brief appearances. He closed out a 14-3 loss to Bronze Medalist Italy, relieving Lino Ballardini and retiring former minor leaguer Ernesto Liberatore on a grounder. Against Great Britain, he replaced Brendan Verspreet in the 8th with a 8-3 deficit. He walked Zach Stroman, then Nateshon Thomas hit into a force. Jose Larrinaga relieved and let the inherited run score; somehow, Hendrickx wound up taking the decision in what wound up a 12-11 loss. [6]
