Sven Hendrickx played for the Belgian national team in the 1995 European Championship, going 7 for 27 with 2 walks, a homer, 7 runs and 6 RBI as their primary first baseman. They won the Bronze Medal that year. He was 3 for 19 with a double as the Belgian 1B in the 1999 European Championship and 2 for 8 in the 2001 European Championship. He coached for Belgium in the 2008 European Championship Qualifiers and managed them in the 2010 European Championship, 2011 European Championship Qualifiers, 2014 European Championship, 2016 European Championship, 2018 Super6 and 2019 European Championship.

Hendrickx also coached the Belgian delegation that appeared at the 2009 Open international de Rouen tournament.

He also has been head coach of the Mortsel Stars and has coached the Belgian mens softball team. His son Zane Hendrickx later player for Belgium.
