Biographical Information[edit]

Relief pitcher Zac Reininger began his professional career in 2013.

He was taken by the Detroit Tigers in the 8th round of the 2013 amateur draft; the scout was Tim Grieve. He pitched for the Connecticut Tigers that year, going 1-2 with 10 saves (which tied Brett McKinney for the New York-Penn League lead) and a 1.00 ERA. In 27 innings, he allowed only 17 hits while striking out 32 batters. He was a NYPL Mid-Season All-Star that year. In 2014, he went 4-4 with a 2.54 ERA in 33 games for the West Michigan Whitecaps, saving 11 games and again averaging more than a K per frame. He began 2015 with the Lakeland Tigers, not allowing a run through his first 11 innings.
