Biographical Information[edit]

Relief pitcher Brett McKinney began his professional career in 2013.

He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 19th round of the 2013 amateur draft; the scout was Anthony Wycklendt. With the Jamestown Jammers that year, he went 1-0 with a 3.45 ERA in 23 games, tying for the New York-Penn League lead with 10 saves. He followed that with a 4-4, 2.20 season with the West Virginia Power in 2014; He also pitched a perfect inning for the Bradenton Marauders to bring his season ERA to 2.16. He began 2015 with Bradenton.

McKinney's father, Chuck McKinney, played in the Cincinnati Reds' chain in 1978-1980.
