Biographical Information[edit]
Yuichi Adachi played in Nippon Pro Baseball for 6 years.
Adachi was a 1B/C for the Japanese national team in the 2015 Asian Championship. He went 4 for 15 with two walks, four runs and a RBI and played error-free defense, splitting 1B with Yohei Kawato and backing up Takuya Kinoshita at C. At the time, he was with Panasonic in the industrial leagues. He was picked by the Rakuten Golden Eagles in the 2015 NPB draft. Adachi hit .227/.264/.270 in 73 games as Motohiro Shima's backup in his rookie year, but that was his only season seeing regular action with the big club. He hit .211/.268/.289 in 49 games in 2017, and he only played 41 games combined in the next two seasons. Adachi crushed 2 homers with a .167/.242/.267 batting line in 2020, and he was 1-for-17 in 2021. He announced his retirement after the '21 season.
Overall, Adachi hit .195/.243/.266 with 77 hits and 5 homers in 6 seasons in NPB.
