Biographical Information[edit]
Yuhei Takabatake played for Nippon Steel Kashima in the industrial leagues after college. He made the Japanese national team for the 2019 Asian Championship. He hit .375/.615/.500 with five RBI and six runs in five games for Japan. He tied Han Lin for 7th in slugging, tied for third in runs (one behind Juan Diego Lozano and Kazuya Shimokawa) and tied Hyo-seung Ryu and Adriane Ros Bernardo for third in walks (4). He didn't appear in the Gold Medal Game, and Japan was beaten by Taiwan with 4-5.
