Biographical Information[edit]

Yu-Teng Huang pitched in the CPBL for 3 years.

Huang represented Taiwan in the 1989 World Junior Championship, 1990 World Junior Championship and 1991 World Junior Championship. He was on the roster of Taiwan for the 1992 Olympics, but Kun-Han Lin replaced him before the event. The China Times Eagles signed him in 1994, and he was 8-4 with a 3.53 ERA in his rookie year. Huang then went 8-4 with a 3.51 ERA in 1995, and he shut out the Jungo Bears with 10 strikeouts on May 14. He was the youngest pitcher in CPBL history to complete a shutout with 10 strikeouts. However, Huang's ERA rose to 6.15 in 1996, and he was banned for life due to his involvement in a game-fixing scandal.

Huang's repertoire included a fastball (peak 91.9 mph), a curveball, slider, changeup and forkball.

Overall, Huang was 18-15 with a 4.11 ERA, struck out 146 and pitched 269 2/3 innings in 3 seasons in the CPBL.
