Biographical Information[edit]
Young-chan You has pitched in the KBO and for the South Korea national baseball team.
You was drafted by the LG Twins in the 5th round of the 2020 KBO draft, and he stayed in the minors for the entire 2020 season. He then missed the next two seasons due to military service, and he collected 12 holds with a 3.44 ERA in 67 games in 2023. In the 2023 Korean Series, You pitched 2 1/3 shutout innings with 2 strikeouts in Game 2, and he added 2 shutout innings in Game 3. You pitched 1 2/3 shutout innings in Game 5, and he won his first title as the Twins beat the Kt Wiz in 5 games. He was named the new closer of the Twins in 2024 after Woo-Suk Go left, and he notched 26 saves with a 2.97 ERA in 62 appearances. He was 3rd in saves, between Seung-hwan Oh and Yeong-hyun Park. You then made it onto Korea's roster for the 2024 Premier 12.
You's repertoire included a fastball (peak 96.3 mph), slider and forkball.
