Biographical Information[edit]
Relief pitcher Yoshitaka Hashimoto played in Nippon Professional Baseball from 2005 to 2012. He had previously played for Honda Motors in the industrial leagues. He was 5-5 with a 3.62 ERA in 98 games (12 starts) overall, allowing 199 hits and 42 walks in 169 innings, while striking out 97 batters. In his only year of starting in 2006, he was 4-2 with a 3.33 ERA in 17 games (12 starts) for the Nippon Ham Fighters. In January 2008, he was traded with Takehiko Oshimoto and Keizo Kawashima to the Yakult Swallows for Shugo Fujii, Hajime Miki and Yataro Sakamoto.
He played briefly with the Gigantes de Carolina of the Puerto Rico Winter League in 2013-2014, posting a 4.70 ERA in 5 appearances. He threw a fastball in the high 80s/low 90s, forkball, slider and change-up.
