Biographical Information[edit]

Yong-ho Choi played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 8 years.

Choi signed with the OB Bears in 1995, and he stayed in the minors in his first three seasons. He had a 3.29 ERA in 30 games in 1998, then he went 8-7 with a 4.26 ERA in 1999. Choi had a 8-4 record with a 5.06 ERA in 2000, and he was 7-5 with a 4.98 ERA in 2001. He also pitched for South Korea national baseball team in the 2002 Intercontinental Cup, allowing two runs (one earned) in 6 1/3 IP while fanning 8 for the Silver Medalists. However, he only pitched 10 games with a 4.91 ERA in 2002, and the Bears traded him to the KIA Tigers for Mark Kiefer. Choi refused to join the Tigers, and he announced his retirement. He changed his mind late in the 2003 season, and he allowed 12 runs in 10 inning in 2003. He was 2-3 with a 5.83 ERA in 2004, and the Tigers traded him to the Samsung Lions for Dong-joo Shin. Choi never pitched a single game for Samsung's big club, and he was released after the 2005 season.

Overall, Choi was 27-21 with a 4.77 ERA, struck out 354 and pitched 483 innings in 8 seasons in the KBO.
