Biographical Information[edit]

Yong-geun Park played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 7 years.

Park represented South Korea in the 2005 Asian Championship. The LG Twins selected him in the first round of the 2007 KBO draft, and he hit .152/.263/.182 in his first season. He struggled again in 2008 as his batting line was .198/.280/.261, then he played 101 games with a .213/.311/.307 batting line in 2009. Park batted .263/.324/.384 in 2010, then he missed the next two seasons due to military service. On December 12, Park involved in a brawl in a bar, and he was stabbed on his abdomen. Park missed the entire 2013 season due to that injury. He hit .211/.400/.316 in 27 games in 2014, then the Twins traded him with Yo-seop Yoon to the KT Wiz for Joon-hyeong Lee. He recorded a .263/.325/.342 batting line in 2015, and he hit .230/.326/.351 in 2016. Park then announced his retirement, and he became a coach. He coached the Twins in 2021 and from 2023 to 2024. He was a coach for their minor league team from 2019 to 2021 and in 2022, and he was named the minor league baserunning coach in 2025.

Overall, Park hit .222/.309/.311 with 130 hits in 7 seasons in the KBO.
