Ying-Chieh Liao is an outfielder in the Chinese Professional Baseball League.
Liao played for Taiwan in the 2002 World Junior Championship (hitting .273/.357/.364) and 2004 World Junior Championship. In 2005, he made his debut for the senior national team, appearing in both the Asian Championship and 2005 Baseball World Cup. In the World Cup, he hit .280/.345/.440 with 7 runs in 8 games; he tied Chun-Yu Kuo for the most runs on Taiwan. In the 2007 World Port Tournament, he hit .269/.321/.308.
During the 2007 Baseball World Cup, Liao batted .207/.258/.241 with 9 strikeouts in 29 AB as a disappointing starting left fielder for the host Taiwan team. He lost a Fernando Alejos fly in the 6th inning against Mexico that helped Taiwan blow a 4-2 lead.
Liao was drafted by the Sinon Bulls in 2007 and opened 2008 with their minor league team.
