Biographical Information[edit]

I-Wei Lee caught in the CPBL and for the Chinese Taipei national baseball team.

Lee represented Taiwan in the 2005 Baseball World Cup, 2006 World University Championship, 2006 Haarlemse Honkbalweek and 2006 Intercontinental Cup. He was 4 for 18 in the World Cup, but didn't played any games in the Intercontinental Cup as Chun-Chang Yeh and Chih-Kang Kao split the work behind the dish. The Chinatrust Whales drafted him in the first round of the 2006 CPBL Draft. Lee spent his rookie year in the minors, and recorded a .199/.234/.295 batting line with a league-leading 88 strikeouts in 2008. When the Whales dissolved after the 2008 season, Lee was picked up by the Sinon Bulls. Lee played 53 games and hit .285/.304/.377 before he tore his ligament on August 16, 2009, which ended his season. The CPBL banned Lee for life due to a gambling scandal after the 2009 season.

Overall, Lee had hit .231/.259/.325 in two seasons in the CPBL.
