Biographical Information[edit]
Yao-Hua Teng played in the CPBL for 7 years.
Teng was signed by the Uni-President Lions when the league was founded in 1990, and he hit .208/.360/.292 in 42 games. He struggled in 1991 as his batting line was .173/.329/.216, so he only got 98 at-bats combined in the next two seasons. Teng then hit .272/.377/.301 in 69 games in 1994, and he jumped to the Mercuries Tigers in 1995. He was 2-for-24 in 1995, then he hit .232/.321/.303 in 57 games in 1996. The Tigers released him after the 1996 season, and Teng's professional career ended.
Overall, Teng had hit .213/.347/.264 with 121 hits and 25 doubles in 7 seasons in the CPBL.
