Biographical Information[edit]
Wim Oosterhof was a prominent figure in Dutch softball and baseball.
He played baseball and softball for Kinheim and soccer for BVC Bloemendaal. He served in the Netherlands military then was a police inspector in Haarlem. He was Haarlem's Chief of Police from 1981-1988. He was on the board of Kinheim for many years, hosting American players playing for the team in the 1970s-1980s. He also served on the board of the Royal Netherlands Baseball Association, Netherlands Amateur Softball Federation, Royal Netherlands Baseball and Softball Association and European Softball Federation. He was on the Haarlem Baseball Week Organizing Committee from 1961-1972. He also helped organize the 1962 European Championship, 1973 European Championship, 1977 European Championship, 1981 European Championship and 1985 European Championship. His son Willem Oosterhof Jr. played briefly in the Hoofdklasse. In 2008, Wim was inducted into the Dutch Baseball and Softball Hall of Fame.
