Players who went here

The most prominent big-league player to come from Williams College is Ted Lewis. The Ephs have not sent a man to the majors since 1934, when Marc Filley and Charlie Perkins pitched.

Williams played in the first college baseball game ever on July 1, 1859, losing to Amherst College 73-32.

Jack Coombs, Andy Coakley and Charlie Caldwell all coached here. However, Williams is best known in baseball circles for three non-playing alumni: the last "independent" commissioner, Fay Vincent ('60), MLBPA Executive Director Michael Weiner ('83) and the blustery Boss himself, George Steinbrenner ('52).
