Biographical Information[edit]

Wen-Cheng Lan played in the CPBL for 4 years.

Lan represented Taiwan in the 1989 World Port Tournament. The Mercuries Tigers signed him when they were founded in 1990, and Lan was already 30 years old when turning pro. He was often used as backup outfielder, and he hit .264/.289/.355 in his first year. He then recorded a .243/.263/.338 batting line in 1991, but he slumped to .156/.206/.156 in 1992. Lan only had 102 more at-bats with the big club after that until he announced his retirement in 1996, and he coached the Tigers from 1997 to 1999. He started to coach Ping-Jen High School in 2003.

Overall, Lan had hit .231/.259/.264 with 81 hit in 7 seasons in the CPBL.
