Biographical Information[edit]

Wei-Yung Wang pitched in the CPBL.

Wang was selected by the Fubon Guardians in the fifth round of the 2018 CPBL Draft, and he shocked the league in his rookie year. He didn't give up a hit to the first 22 batters he faced, and that is still the CPBL record as of 2023. Wang ended up having a 3.09 ERA in 25 games in 2019, and he collected 8 holds. He pitched 52 games with 12 holds in 2019, but his ERA rose to 6.75. He ranked 10th in appearances, tied with Chi-Che Tsai. Wang bounced back in 2021, having a solid 2.80 ERA in 50 appearances and tying Cheng-Feng Chiang for 6th in holds with 14.

The Hualien native extended his solid pitching in 2022, and he collected 8 holds with a 2.43 ERA in 43 games. He then recorded 3.44 ERA in 42 games in 2023 with 7 holds.

Huang's repertoire includes a fastball (peak 93.8 mph), forkball and slider.
