Biographical Information[edit]

Wei-Cheng Lu played in the CPBL.

Lu was drafted by the Wei Chuan Dragons in the 13th round of the 2019 CPBL Draft, and he notched 12 saves with a 5.44 ERA in 54 games in the minors in 2020. He set the CPBL minors record for most appearances in a season, and he led the league in saves. Lu collected 16 holds with a 4.28 ERA in 43 games with the big club in 2021, and he was 5th in holds (between Chi-Che Tsai and Wei-Yung Wang). However, Lu slumped to a 9.22 ERA in 16 games in 2022, and he only pitched 7 games combined in the next two seasons due to waist injury. He announced his retirement after the 2024 season.

Overall, Lu was 2-3 with a 5.55 ERA, collected 19 holds in 66 appearances, struck out 46 in 58 1/3 innings in 4 seasons in the CPBL.

Lu's repertoire includes a fastball (peak 95.1 mph), sinker and curveball.
