Biographical Information[edit]
Catcher Vincent Plumbo played in the minors from 1941-1957, including 7 years at AAA and was never a renowned hitter. He was released by the Charleston Senators on opening day in 1954. He hooked on with the Ottawa A's, the AAA club of the Philadelphia A's at the beginning of May. Plumbo was named player/coach in July to assist Taft Wright who had taken over the managerial reigns from Les Bell. Plumbo then managed the next four seasons in the Kansas City A's organization.
