Biographical Information[edit]

Vincent Lhoste was on the French national team.

In France's first Intercontinental Cup, the 1991 Intercontinental Cup, he was 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA that beat the team mark of 11.67; he lost to Nicaragua's Carlos Herbert and Taiwan's Chao-Huang Lin. [1] During the 1993 European Championship, he was 0-1 with a save and a team-best 2.87 ERA, .13 ahead of Christophe Gouilleux. He lost to Sweden's Mikael Aho but later saved a win over Sweden, started by Étienne Coste. He finished 10th in ERA, between Joeri Loykens and Gouilleux, and was also tied for 3rd in IP (15 2/3, even with Michael Wäller). [2]

During the 1993 Intercontinental Cup, he was 0-1 with a 21.38 ERA and only Farouk Messagier was higher for France. He lost to Rolando Arrojo and tourney champion Cuba. [3] He led the 1994 European Cup in ERA, while pitching for the Barracudas de Montpellier; a teammate was future MLB All-Star Jeff Zimmerman. Montpellier own Bronze, only the second medal for a French team in a European Cup. [4]
