Biographical Information[edit]
Vernon (Vern) Spearman was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the 29th Round of the 1991 amateur draft. He played in the Dodgers' organization from 1991 to 1997, reaching AAA for parts of three seasons.
Vern was selected as an all-star outfielder in 1998 and 1999 in the Western League while with the Sonoma County Crushers. He was also a Northern League Eastern Division All-Star in 2000 with the Adirondack Lumberjacks. Vern Played with the Northern League again in 2002 with the Winnipeg Goldeyes.
Spearman spent 2003 with the Central League's Jackson Senators and the Atlantic League's Atlantic City Surf. He played in the Central League again in 2004 with the Shreveport Sports until he was released on July 30.
