Biographical Information

After attending the University of California, San Diego (where he was named NCAA Division II All-American at SS in 2010), infielder Vance Albitz began his pro career with the Lincoln Saltdogs of the independent American Association in 2010. He was signed by the St. Louis Cardinals organization in August 2011. On August 22, 2012, in his first game at the AAA level with the Memphis Redbirds, he hit his first minor league home run. He moved on to the Los Angeles Angels organization in 2014. In 2015, he returned to the Cardinals system as a coach for Memphis.

Albitz is the founder of Gloves 4 Troops, an organization that provides baseball gloves for active duty U.S. troops overseas.
