Biographical Information[edit]

Vadim Skripets was the first baseman for the Ukrainian national team in their first European Championship game, in the 1995 European Championship. He was also their first player hit by a pitch, when Erik Lommerde plunked him. He was 1 for 16 with 3 walks, 2 runs, one steal and the one time hit by pitch. He fielded .943. His lone hit was off Slovenia's Tine Zaletel. He did not have the lowest fielding percentage of any first baseman; Igor Makhambetov and Rok Lesjak were both lower. [1]

He was 2 for 9 with two runs, a RBI and a .947 fielding percentage in the 2001 European Championship. He backed up Ruslan Deykun at 1B. His hits came off Jeroen Deken and against Sweden. [2]
