Biographical Information[edit]

Following his high school career at Aptos High School, Tyler LaTorre went on to play collegiately at UC Davis from 2003-2006. He helped the Aggies reach the 2003 Division II World Series as team captain. He went sign as an undrafted free agent and play in the San Francisco Giants organization from 2006-2014, reaching AAA for the first time in 2011 with the Fresno Giants. In 2015 he appeared in 14 games for the AA affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, the Biloxi Shuckers. In 2016 LaTorre played in 2 games with Unipol Bologna of the Italian Baseball League. LaTorre was also a member of the Italian National Baseball Team, catching in the 2012 European Championship as well as the 2013 World Baseball Classic.

LaTorre started his collegiate coaching career at San Francisco State University for 2 years as associate head coach and recruiting coordinator. He would then move to San Jose State University in 2018-2020 where he was pitching, catching and hitting coach in addition to the recruiting coordinator. LaTorre became an assistant coach at California State University, Sacramento for 2020. He then became head coach at Westmont College for 2023. After two seasons he moved to Pepperdine University in 2025.
