Biographical Information[edit]

Tyler Anderson played ball for two years at William Woods University and earned a degree in sports management in 2011. He also played with the Perth Heat of the Australian Baseball League during the 2010/2011 and 2011/2012 seasons.

Anderson moved into the college coaching ranks with the Dartmouth College Big Green where he was a volunteer assistant coach in 2015-2016. He spent the next season with the Saint Louis University Billikens. Anderson worked as the pitching coach for both universities. He started the 2018 season with Lindenwood University as their pitching coach & recruiting coordinator, but left in early 2018 for a professional coaching opportunity.

Anderson joined the Los Angeles Angels organization and worked as the pitching coach for the Orem Owlz in 2018 and the AZL Angels in 2019. He was slated for a similar position with the Burlington (IA) Bees in 2020 before COVID-19 shut down the minor league season. A bit oddly, some sources listed Anderson as the coach for the Inland Empire 66ers instead that year. After the pandemic season ended, Anderson moved to the Philadelphia Phillies chain as the Clearwater Threshers pitching coach in 2021. He started 2022 with the FCL Phillies but left in July.

During the years of coaching in the U.S., Anderson retained ties to baseball in Australia in various ways.

  • 2018/2019 Pitching coach Perth Heat
  • 2021 Pitching coach for the Australian team at the 2021 U-18 Baseball World Cup
  • 2021-2022 National pitching coordinator

In July 2022, Eastern Kentucky University hired Anderson as their pitching coach.
