Troy Washer Women

From BR Bullpen

While some sources list the Troy, NY entry in the Eastern League as remaining the Troy Trojans in 1894, they generally appear to be listed as the Troy Washer Women. Behind Tom Cahill's management, they went 43-32, 16 1/2 games behind the Providence Clamdiggers and second in the league. The team folded on July 26 and was replaced by the Scranton Miners. Practically every player from the team also played for Scranton, including the star outfield duo of Ted Scheffler (.327, 29 SB, .466 SLG, a league-leading 138 runs for the season) and Bill Johnson (.333, .503 SLG, 24 triples, 111 runs for the year).
