Biographical Information[edit]

Tracy Jones was signed after being selected in the secondary phase of the January 1983 amateur draft by the Cincinnati Reds and scouts Larry Barton Jr. and Dave Calaway.

Currently Jones is a personality on 700 WLW AM where he covers the Reds in his show "Extra Innings" after Cincinnati Reds games. Jones' approach on "Extra Innings" can be characterized as a "If you haven't played the game then you don't understand it enough to talk about it." This approach has angered some listeners while gathering support from others. Jones is also known for asking each caller, who calls after a Friday night game, as to how many drinks they have had.

Jones' brother, Terry Jones, was a minor league infielder for the California Angels and Kansas City Royals 1984-1988. His son Hunter Jones began his pro career in 2010.
