Toshinobu Sueyoshi pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball for 3 years.
Sueyoshi was a superstar in the Tokyo Big Six University League, and he had a 44-20 record while leading the Waseda University to five championships. He was 3rd in wins (behind Suguru Egawa's 47 and Masatake Yamanaka's 48) and 2nd in appearances (83, 1 behind Tadashi Wakabayashi) in the league's career leaderboard. The Mainichi Orions signed him in 1952, and he was 6-6 with a 3.44 ERA in his rookie year. He was also selected into the 1952 NPB All-Star Games, and he pitched 2 shutout innings in Game 1. However, Sueyoshi slumped to 1-4 with a 5.74 ERA in 1953, and he only pitched 11 games with a 2.89 ERA in 1954. He announced his retirement after the 1954 season.
Overall, Sueyoshi was 8-12 with a 4.03 ERA, struck out 52 and pitched 163 innings in 3 years in NPB.
