Biographical Information[edit]

Tony Klarberg has played and coached in Sweden.

Klarberg appeared for Sweden when they won Bronze in the 1980 European Junior Championship (their best finish to that point). He was in the 1981 World Junior Championship, the first World Junior Championship and in the 1982 European Junior Championship. He played for Bagarmossen BSK and the Leksand Lumberjacks in the Elitserien, mostly at catcher but also seeing action as an outfielder and corner infielder.

Tony was on the Swedish national team in the 1983 European Championship, 1985 European Championship, 1987 European Championship, 1989 European Championship and 1991 European Championship. His son, Johan Klarberg, was born in 1993 and followed him onto the national team in the 2010s.

Klarberg coached Leksand in 2000-2001. From 2007-2016, he worked full-time for the Swedish Baseball and Softball Association and started the Swedish Baseball Academy, which he continued running after stepping down from the Association. He coached for Sweden in the 2016 European Championship.
