Biographical Information[edit]

Outfielder Tony Diggs was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 6th round of the 1989 amateur draft. He played eight seasons in the minors for the Brewers (1989-1993) and St. Louis Cardinals (1994-1996), briefly reaching AAA in 1993, 1995, and 1996. He twice topped 30 steals in a season.

In 1998-1999, Diggs was a coach for the Peoria Chiefs in the Cardinals system. He was director of player development for the "MLB All-Stars" in the International Baseball League of Australia in 2000-2001 and was a consultant for the Australian national team for the 2000 Olympics. In 2002-2003, he again coached for Peoria. He moved to the Milwaukee Brewers organization as a hitting coach for the Beloit Snappers in 2004 and Brevard County Manatees in 2005. In 2006, he was promoted to assistant director for the Milwaukee player development center. While still holding down that job, he became manager of the AZL Brewers for 2008. After managing the AZL Brewers and Helena Brewers through 2016, Diggs slid over to a coaching position with the AZL Brewers in 2017-2018.
