Biographical Information[edit]
Tony Diaz began his coaching career with the AZL Rockies in 2000. From 2001 to 2006, he was hitting coach for the Casper Rockies, and in 2007, he took over as the club's skipper. In 2013 the Colorado Rockies added a "development supervisor" position for each of its minor league affiliates. Diaz was tabbed for the Grand Junction Rockies in that role.
In 2017, he was promoted to the major league Rockies as first base coach under new manager Bud Black. In 2019, he moved to the Minnesota Twins as third base coach under new manager Rocco Baldelli. In 2022, he was named assistant bench coach of the Twins, staying until the end of the 2024 season.
