Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Tom Carson played in the minor leagues from around 1903 to 1916 and reappeared in 1924, at the age of 49. He regularly batted around the Mendoza line, with his career average, per records available, being .274 in 208 at-bats for the Waco Navigators in 1914. He had a career-high 18 doubles for Waco in 1912.

He managed the Waco Navigators for the first part of 1913, going 47-46; he was replaced by Ellis Hardy. He next managed the Cisco Scouts in 1920, replacing Jack York. In 1924, he led the Waco Indians for the latter part of the season, replacing Otto McIvor.

He also umpired in the Texas League, Central League, West Texas League, Western Association and Nebraska State League in the 1920s and into the 1930s.

He served in the United States Army during World War I in 1917 and 1918.
