Todd Weldon pitched in the minors then became a college coach.
Weldon was picked by the New York Mets in the 27th round of the 2010 amateur draft. He split the summer between the Kingsport Mets (1-3, 6 Sv, 3.96, 30 K, 16 H, 14 BB in 25 IP) and Brooklyn Cyclones (3 R, 2 ER in 4 1/3 IP). He tied for third in the Appalachian League in saves. In 2011, he was with Brooklyn (4-1, 6 Sv, 2.56), the Savannah Sand Gnats (3-1, 3.80 in 12 G) and St. Lucie Mets (1 UER in 1 IP).
Out of the Mets chain, he was 0-3 with a 2.50 ERA and a save for the independent Abilene Prairie Dogs in 2012. He had gone 8-8 with 13 saves and a 3.20 ERA in 70 games as a pro. He returned to Wayland Baptist as assistant coach from 2013-2018. He ran the baseball program at Scotland Campus from 2019-2021 then returned to Wayland Baptist as head coach.
