Biographical Information

Timothy Mena pitched for the Nicaraguan national team and Costa Rican national team. He was a submarine hurler.

Mena played in Nicaragua and Costa Rica. In the 1941 Amateur World Series, the 44-year-old debuted for the Nicaraguan national team, going 3 for 11 as a right fielder. He was with Nicaragua for the 1944 Amateur World Series. In the 1946 Central American and Caribbean Games, the 49-year-old pitched very well for Costa Rica. At age 50, he led the 1947 Amateur World Series in wins, going 3-0 as Nicaragua won Bronze. He suited up one more time for Nicaragua, at age 51 in the 1948 Amateur World Series. He was still playing in domestic competition at age 60 and was inducted into Nicaragua's Sports Hall of Fame in 1997.
