Biographical Information[edit]

Tim Stanton pitched in the minor leagues for four years.

Stanton was 7-1 with a 2.44 ERA in college in 1999. The Arizona Diamondbacks picked him in the 21st round of the 1999 amateur draft. He was 3-3 with a 3.90 ERA for the Missoula Osprey that summer, fanning 35 in 32 1/3 IP. With the 2000 South Bend Silver Hawks, he went 5-5 with two saves and a 3.88 ERA, though he walked 33 in 65 innings. On April 21, he teamed with Greg Aquino, Jose Valverde and Bret Prinz for a combined no-hitter of the Peoria Chiefs. He tied Brian Matzenbacher for 10th in the Midwest League in games pitched (51) as well as 6th in the Diamondback farm system. Moving to the New York Yankees system, he was 1-0 with a save and a 1.89 ERA for the '01 Tampa Yankees. He moved to the independent circuits in 2002, going 9-6 with a 4.61 ERA for Les Capitales de Québec. He tied for 9th in the Northern League's eastern division in wins.

Overall, Tim was 18-14 with 3 saves and a 3.83 ERA in 118 minor league games (19 starts). In 256 1/3 IP, he allowed 266 hits and 92 walks while fanning 202.
