Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium
Thurman Munson Memorial Stadium was built in 1989. The ballpark was named after former New York Yankees Captain and Canton native Thurman Munson who had died in a tragic plane crash a decade earlier. The stadium had a capacity of 5,500. It was home to the Canton-Akron Indians from 1989-1996, the Canton Crocodiles from 1997-2001 and the Canton Coyotes in 2002.
